There is a thriving Junior Church at 10.30 am each Sunday.

Please note crèche facilities are offered at Sunday Morning Worship.

Covenant Service

Methodist churches hold an annual service at which we particularly celebrate all that God has done for us and renew our own covenant to give our lives to Him.  Like many churches, here at Four Oaks we hold that service in January, both in our morning and evening services.  A central part of the service is the covenant prayer:

'I am no longer my own but yours.
Put me to what you will,
rank me with whom you will;
put me to doing,
put me to suffering;
let me be employed for you,
or laid aside for you,
exalted for you,
or brought low for you;
let me be full,
let me be empty,
let me have all things,
let me have nothing:
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things
to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
you are mine and I am yours.'

Types of Worship

9.00 am - Holy Communion (held monthly on the third Sunday).
This is a traditional Holy Communion using the Methodist Worship Book.

10.30 am - Morning Service
While this tends to be fairly traditional, there are ten family services each year, often with the uniformed organisations parading. In addition to this there is a quarterly special service which incorporates drama, dance, poetry, and different music and styles of preaching.

It is the preferred practice of the church that baptisms take place in the morning service, but are often held after the morning service so that all the families can be accommodated.

6.30 pm - Evening Worship
A more relaxed service, using piano and our music group instead of the organ, with more modern hymns and songs.

10.30 am - Wednesday Midweek Service
A short traditional service led by Circuit ministers and Local Preachers, followed by coffee and a chat.
